From 3-6 October 2017, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon will be brought back to life with over 70,000 sticks of burning incense and the participation of 300 athletes for four nights of awe-inspiring dance of flames in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This fiery ancient ritual involving a colorful dancing dragon has made it among the top of China’s national list of intangible cultural heritage. Started since the 19th century by residents of Tai Hang village to ask the gods to stop a plague and a run of bad luck, this striking performance involves drummers, fire dances and erupting firecrackers.
